I’m a content creator, rather than a writer, and that’s an important distinction. Writing is one part of content creation, and content creator is a more accurate and all-encompassing term.

That’s because content isn’t limited to only writing. In fact, there might be a better way to convey information you have than a written article.

  • Podcast
  • Infographic
  • Social media
  • White paper
  • Case study
  • Checklist
  • Video

Reasons to Create Different Content

There are few key ways and reasons that one might create one or more pieces of content from the information you have:

  • How people consume content is changing
  • You have to think about the best delivery method for the kind of content you have. If it’s a quick, newsy update, consider a podcast so people can listen on the go. If it’s very visual, you will want to use something more like an infographic, video or social media post.
  • Ask yourself, what are the goals of your content? Do you want somebody to feel a certain way or take a specific action! Based on that answer, you might create one type of content over another.
